Yolanda Johnson is currently enrolled in Ashford University, studying for her BA in Social & Criminal Justice. Her professional career includes serving as a parent volunteer for more than 20 years, including effectively and successfully negotiating for expansion of Pre-K classes in Newark Public School District. Yolanda is certified as a Professional Community Gang Intervention Outreach Specialist.

Nichelle Velazquez is a twenty-five year resident of Newark. She currently works in the service industry and studies at Essex County College. She has been active in opposing US intervention in Venezuela and organizing solidarity with the Puerto Rican uprising.
